Everything you need to know about PlantGo, our launch timeline, and gameplay mechanics.
Yes! PlantGo is 100% free to download on both Apple App Store and Google Play Store. You can scan, pin, explore maps, and verify plants without any subscription or paywalls.
When someone pins a plant, it is marked as "Pending Verification." To verify it, another explorer must physically walk within a 30-meter geofenced radius of the pin, snap a live camera photo, and confirm the species. Once 2 or more independent trainers verify it, the pin earns a "Verified" golden badge and both users gain XP bonuses. Fake or expired pins are easily flagged and removed.
Closed Beta testing begins in just a few weeks for pre-registered waitlist members on iOS TestFlight and Android Google Play Early Access. The worldwide public launch is scheduled right after. Pre-register today to secure your priority download invite.
Verification points increase your Botanist Trainer Rank, unlock rare cosmetic map pins, grant bragging rights on city leaderboards, and can be redeemed for seasonal badges, custom avatar gear, and entries into monthly botanical expedition giveaways.
Yes! PlantGo features an offline "Deep Woods" mode. You can pre-download regional flora neural models for zero-connectivity hiking. Pinned observations are saved securely on your device and automatically uploaded to sync with the global map the moment you return to coverage.
We care deeply about conservation. For critically endangered or poached flora (like rare wild orchids and ancient cacti), PlantGo automatically applies coordinate fuzzing (obfuscating exact GPS locations to a broad 5km radius) to protect fragile wild populations while still celebrating their scientific existence.
